VALUE ADDED CALF "VAC" PROGRAM

During the past four years many calf producers have elected at their own expense to vaccinate their calves for IBR,PI3,BVD,BRSV which in turn will prevent the onset of Pasteurella Haemolytica. This is supplemented by a vaccination against the Clostridial organisms (Blackleg, etc.). This effort and expense has resulted in a tremendous benefit to the buyer of these calves. These immunizations prior to weaning have reduced the health problems resulting from the stress caused by weaning, transportation, and changes in environment that lower the level of resistance of the calf's natural immune system.

When proper vaccines are administered according to the label and an adequate time is allowed for the development of the immunity, savings in medicine, death loss and production cost efficiency are realized by the owner. Buyers who have experienced the benefits with these pre-wean vaccinated and pre-conditioned calves in prior years are now scanning the catalog for the vaccinated calves. This added value has rewarded the seller through competitive bidding and a SUBSTANTIAL PREMIUM FOR HIS CALVES. Satisfied buyers bid higher for calves that have proven in prior years to have less health problems. Producers Cattle Auction recommends that each calf producer follow the specific recommendations of his veterinarian or health consultant and the recommendations on the label. Also, all injections should be administered in front of the shoulder to minimize muscle tissue injection site blemishes.

In some lots the vaccinations are at the buyer's expense. The buyer also may provide the vaccines of choice that work best in his circumstance and the seller will provide the labor 3 to 4 weeks before delivery. The Buyers choice must be approved by the Seller so as to not conflict with the sellers herd health program.

PRODUCERS PRE-VAC
Lots identified with this symbol will be vaccinated against IBR-PI3-BVD-BRSV with an injectable vaccine and/or an intranasal modified live IBR- PI3 vaccine when the calves are worked at 2 to 4 months of age OR a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks prior to weaning. In some cases where the buyer has the option to provide the vaccine of his choice at his expense, his choice will substitute for the above stated vaccines and must not conflict with the sellers herd health program.
PRODUCERS PRE-VAC PLUS
Lots identified with this logo will be vaccinated against IBR-PI3-BVD-BRSV with an injectable vaccine and/or an intranasal modified live IBR-PI3 when the calves are worked at 2 to 4 months of age and given the BOOSTER a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks prior to weaning. In some cases where the buyer has the option to provide the vaccine of his choice at his expense, his choice will substitute for the above stated vaccines and must not conflict with the sellers herd health
program.
PRODUCERS PRE-CON
Lots identified with this logo will be vaccinated against IBR-PI3-BVD-BRSV with an injectable vaccine and/or an intranasal modified live IBR-PI3 when the calves are WEANED and given the IBR-PI3-BVD-BRSV BOOSTER 14 to 21 days later. The calves must be weaned a minimum of 30 days and free of any health related problems. These calves may be one raising receiving the shots prior to or following weaning or put-together receiving these shots during the weaning process.
